Film-inclusive, art-forward storytelling for multi-day Indian and fusion weddings across Chicago, the suburbs, and the Midwest

Chicago Indian wedding photographer for multi-day events

Chicago is a living canvas. Steel and stone, mural and museum, grit and high culture share the same light. It’s a city made of art, where bold architecture and public sculpture turn everyday streets into something curated and alive. I photograph Indian weddings in Chicago with an art-led, editorial approach, creating images that feel intentional, alive, and unmistakably yours. If you’re drawn to work that honors tradition while still looking like art, I’m glad you found your way here.

I’ve photographed multi-day Indian wedding weekends across North and South Indian traditions; Sikh ceremonies, Muslim celebrations, and fusion weddings. I understand how much care goes into these events, and I work with intention to document the rituals, the elders, and the family moments that matter while keeping the experience calm, organized, and respectful.

My work blends honest candid moments with dynamic portraiture so your images feel elevated without ever feeling staged. I specialize in 35mm and medium format film, paired with digital coverage, for couples who want depth, texture, and a timeless finish.

Whether your weekend includes mehndi, haldi, sangeet, baraat, ceremony, and reception, or a modern fusion timeline, I’ll create a coverage plan built around your people, your priorities, and what matters most.

Not the posed, traditional style you may have seen before. Cinematic, authentic storytelling that honors your culture while feeling fresh, modern, and deeply personal.

Multi-day Indian wedding coverage

Indian weddings are layered. I work with planners and timelines so nothing important gets missed, especially the moments families will care about most years from now.

Events I commonly photograph:

  • Mehndi / Henna night

  • Haldi / Pithi

  • Sangeet / Garba / Dandiya

  • Baraat

  • Hindu ceremony (mandap, rituals, pheras)

  • Reception

  • Brunch / welcome dinner / post-wedding events

If you’re blending traditions, I’ll help create a visual story that feels seamless across the weekend.

Fusion weddings in Chicago

Fusion weekends are where contrast becomes harmony. Different languages, different music, different rituals, all belonging to the same day. I photograph that overlap the way it feels: grounded, luminous, and real.

Fusion can look like:

  • Hindu + Christian

  • Sikh + Filipino

  • Nikkah + Western ceremony / reception

  • Indian + Latino / mariachi baraat

  • Two ceremonies, two families, one visual story

If you’re leaning into Hindu traditions for ceremony structure but your weekend is multicultural, I can absolutely tell the story with clarity.

Film photography (optional)

Yes, 35mm or medium format film can be included in your coverage. Film has been a mainstay of my artistry the past few years. I love it most for moments that benefit from softness, depth, and emotional texture throughout the day.

If you’re film-curious, we’ll decide together where it fits best (and where digital makes more sense for speed and reliability).

FAQ's
What should we expect when it comes to pricing?

I offer set collections for single-day or day-and-a-half coverage, and I also create custom proposals for multi-day South Asian weddings. Your proposal is tailored to the events you’re planning, the number of hours across those days, whether you’d like additional photographers, and if you’d like to include film coverage. Most couples investing in South Asian wedding photography spend between $7,500–$11,000 for multi-day coverage.

Do you have experience with South Asian weddings?

I’ve been photographing South Asian weddings for the past five years. In that time I’ve documented Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Pakistani, Bengali, and fusion weddings, each with their own traditions and rhythms. I approach these celebrations with patience and respect, knowing that every part of the ceremony carries meaning, even if I don’t always understand the language. My focus is on observing closely and treating every ritual as significant. And yes, sometimes aunties will pull me aside for a photo of their outfits or the priest will pause mid-ceremony so everyone can look at the camera, I’m there to capture those moments too. I take great care to include extended family and elders in portraits, making sure no one is overlooked. I take great pride in honoring each tradition with both artistry and heart.

Do you offer videography as well?

Yes. I can include a wedding highlight video from my video partner Prathiba Productions (based on availability) as an add-on to your custom proposal. If you’re looking for full videography coverage, I also have trusted teams I can recommend. Many of my couples choose one of these options so their wedding story is preserved in both photographs and moving images, with a photo and video team that’s aligned in approach. The teams I work with share my style of documenting the day naturally, without turning it into a production.

Can we include 35mm film photography in our coverage?

Film photography is available upon request. For some of my South Asian couples, having their wedding documented on film feels especially meaningful, while for others it’s not a priority. Shooting on film is a very intentional process and does carry additional costs for the rolls themselves, developing, and scans. If film photography speaks to you, just let me know, I’d be happy to incorporate it into your custom proposal and create a collection that blends film and digital in a way that feels seamless.

How do you balance candid moments with portraits?

It’s important to capture the traditional, posed family photos — those are heirlooms — but I also prioritize time for structured, editorial-style portraits of the couple. These can happen during a first look, after the ceremony, or even woven into quiet moments between events. Many couples choose to separate their ceremony and reception across two days to maximize portrait time, while others keep everything in one day, which simply means I’m more intentional about making the most of the time we do have. Throughout it all, candid storytelling remains at the heart of my work, I’m constantly capturing the unscripted moments that bring your celebration to life.

Do you travel for Midwest Indian weddings outside Chicago?

I am available for Indian Weddings and South Asian Ceremonies throughout the Chicago and surrounding areas. I’ve photographed ceremonies in Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan. I am always happy to take the show on the road for my couples!

How do you handle photo timelines when venues have strict rules or limited portrait time?

Being flexible is important. Coming in with a strong game plan is key. I collaborate with your planner and venue team to protect time for family portraits and couple portraits, and I keep the flow organized so we’re not scrambling. Part of my process includes pre-scouting your venue and nearby locations so that I have backup plans for time restrictions, weather, operating hours and timeline shifts. The goal is to use every minute well, without the photographs feeling hurried or forced.

What it feels like to work together

My couples usually want two things at once:

  1. Images that feel beautiful and art-led, and

  2. A photographer who can handle the pace and complexity of an Indian wedding without needing constant direction.

That’s exactly where I thrive: calm presence, clear guidance, and a final gallery that honors the meaning and the atmosphere.
