One afternoon, my grandfather pulled out an envelope filled with old photographs. Some black and white, some faded color. Each with its own wear — scalloped edges, traces of glue, scribbled notes on the back.
He went through them one by one, sharing small chapters of his life. When the afternoon ended, he let me hold onto the envelope for safekeeping.
My grandfather has been gone for many years, but I still take those photos out from time to time. That experience gave me a lasting admiration for film. 35mm has a magic that feels closer to memory than documentation — textured, nostalgic, imperfect in the best way. It’s why I’ve built my work as a 35mm wedding photographer.
I offer 35mm wedding photography with most of my full-day packages. You can choose black and white or color, and I also love experimenting with unusual stocks — even expired rolls for a more unpredictable, dreamlike feel. I handle everything from documentation to lab work, and you’ll receive digital scans within your online gallery where you can print and share. My hope is that, years from now, someone you love will hold these photographs in their hands and see your story the way I once held my grandfather’s.

How I Incorporate 35mm Film Into Weddings
My two main wedding packages include film alongside your digital coverage. When you add 35mm film to your wedding day, you’ll receive full digital coverage as well as moments throughout the day photographed on film. My goal is to use 35mm wedding photography to enhance the storytelling of your gallery — adding depth, texture, and a sense of timelessness to your images. Every moment is fair game, from quiet portraits to the dance floor to the little in-between details.
I’m always experimenting with new ways to use film on a wedding day, whether that’s trying out a different camera, testing unusual film stocks, or matching the look of a roll to your venue or style. While I frequently shoot hybrid (digital + film), I also offer full weddings captured entirely on film for couples who want a true analog-only experience.
Film Stocks & Options
My go-to films are in the Kodak Portra family, but I also work with cinema stocks like Vision3, Cinestill favorites, slide film and occasionally pre-exposed rolls that add unexpected bursts of color. Black and white is special too, and I have a few trusted stocks I love for weddings. You can choose color or black and white, or I can help consult on the right film for your day — whether that’s Psych Blues #3 for its dreamy, light-soaked effects, tinted films, or even expired rolls for something truly one-of-a-kind.

*Most couples begin with 35mm, but I also shoot medium format (120 film) for a different look, larger negatives, even more detail, and a slower, more intentional pace. I now offer an entire Analog Wedding Package.
