I met Nikki + Joe when the world had just started to turn upside down. We kept our date the second week of March to shoot their engagement session at Fort Point and the Presido. I know I will never forget prophesying about how the shutdown will impact our futures and then the crazy reality that followed in the months to come.
Nikki + Joe are the ideal couple. They live in a historic home, are wonderfully artistic + outdoor folk. The two spent quarantine getting a puppy.
Joe hails from the UK which made having his family in California just not possible. They made the best of Covid-19 and had a slimmed down backyard ceremony at a vacation rental in Mill Valley.
It felt so good to capture this one. The home had some beautiful features throughout and a bonus trampoline which is a first for any wedding I’ve ever shot. I loved their first look, Nikki’s rad vintage 64 Chevy Nova that we took up the hill, the rolling clouds, rugs lining the aisle, running up and down stairs all day, surprise life size cut-outs of Joe’s family and champagne toasts from 7,000 miles away on zoom. I also sprinkled in some film shots in color + b&w.
Excited to spend more time with them next summer and excited to share these ones today!
