Poet’s Soiree, Romantic Old World Wedding Inspiration

February 22, 2020

Inspired by a library in Dublin, a love of books, poetry + the written word. I wanted to head a shoot that brought the old world to life. Something wildly romantic, rooted in fantasy with only hints of a sense of time.
We created a narrative about a young poet writing letters to his betrothed that transpires to their wedding day. Some details include vintage books, real love letters from the 40’s, candles, movement and light.

To Love or to have loved,
that is enough.
Ask nothing further.
There is no other pearl to be found in the dark folds of life.
-Victor Hugo

In the past two years, I’ve seen a steady decline in handwritten notes exchanged by the bride and groom the morning of the wedding. I believe this to be one of the more special elements of a wedding day- hoping to inspire couples to bring it on back!
