Golden Gate Club Wedding // Erica + Francis

Weddings

It’s been a great joy capturing weddings at the historic Golden Gate Club in the Presidio over the years. This was my very first one.

History of the building dates back to 1949 when it was opened as spot for enlisted men’s service club. Several treaties were signed here in the first days of the Korean War. The club sits below cypress and pine groves. The Spanish Colonial revival style building and features a series of rooms and spaces that can be used during wedding days along with a chapel on the hill and outdoor garden space. The main meeting room has unmatched views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

I still treasure these moments from Francis and Erica’s wedding day. The two got ready at the Funston House and did a first look on the porch. This is one of the best getting spots in the Presidio. We a series of wedding party portraits out on the lawn and collectively walked over to the venue.

This is the only wedding I’ve done where the ceremony was in the main entrance of the building. You’ll notice the age of this post from the two big trees in front of the entrance. This couple had a stunning chuppah decorated in neutral tones and greens.

For sunset photos we walked just a little up the hill to the edge of the woods, the light was remarkable. These two are big music lovers and watching them on the dance floor with all of their guests was the most fun. I was so happy to capture this fun day and love looking back at it even years later.
