Bin + Huy are foodies, kids at heart + a couple full of Ohana spirit.
You may remember huy’s proposal at the Getty Museum.
It was such a treat to accompany these two to the island to capture their beautiful ceremony out on the terrace at the Halekulani Resort on Wakiki Beach in Oahu, Hawaii. This was my first Wedding shot on the island and my first time back since I was in college. My fond memories of Wakiki as a kid were eating Happy Meals, collecting Power Ranger pogs and all the beautiful smells and music! This trip did not include fast food stops.
We did an awesome mini Adventure Session along the North Shore the day before.
This Wedding did, however, include a gathering of friends + family who traveled all the way to the Island to celebrate. Complete with a ukulele player, a proper conch (shell) blowing, island eats + cookies from the Aloha Cookie Company as takeaway gifts. The bride and grooms handwritten vows were one of the most memorable events of the day along with the cutout of Charlie, the grooms dog, waiting ‘patiently’ by the best man.
It was important to the bride and groom to have show their guests all the bits of Hawaiian culture that they love so much. This day was gorgeous.
I shoot Weddings, Adventure Elopements + Engagement sessions in Oahu, Maui, Kauai and all of the other Hawaiian Islands. Would love to hear what you have in mind and be in touch to create something together // teri b photography // [contact me]
