I met Bin + Huy for the first time at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles where Huy proposed to Bin after a Harry Potter scavenger hunt. These two have the most fun with each other and I was so lucky to get to come over to Hawaii to capture their big Ohana Wedding day.
They married at the Halekulani Resort on Wakiki Beach in Oahu, Hawaii. This was my first Wedding shot on the island and my first time back since I was in college. My fond memories of Wakiki as a kid were eating Happy Meals, collecting Power Ranger pogs and all the beautiful smells and music! *This trip did not include fast food stops.
Lots of wonderful Hawaiian touches that made this day feel complete including a ukulele player, conch (shell) blowing, traditional luau food + cookies from the Aloha Cookie Company as takeaway gifts. Huy and Bin’s handwritten vows to each other were one of the most memorable events of the day along with the cutout of Charlie, the grooms dog, waiting ‘patiently’ by the best man.
It was important to the bride and groom to have show their guests all the bits of Hawaiian culture that they love so much. This day was gorgeous.
