Historical landmarks make for great wedding venues. I always rav about the old San Francisco Mint, Fort Point + Sutro Baths.

The Old Whaling Station down the coast in Monterey is also on my list.

Michael + Linnea are both school teachers and wanted a wedding location in the heart of it all for their out of town guests. The Old Whaling Station is a short walk to the pier and includes the adobe, gardens and California’s first brick house.

The two got ready in the adobe, still filled with ancestral furnishings when it was used as an Inn. We did a first look back in the gardens around a wonderfully twisted tree followed by a few portraits around the grounds. The front of the house has a walkway made entirely of whalebone vertebrae. The property was just fun to be around and this was a wonderful day. A few of my favorites:
