I learned a few years ago that when a ladybug lands on you it brings good luck. What about butterflies?
The beginning of this wedding day I was arranging Danielle’s details and a butterfly in black, orange + white started fluttering about. I had only met Dani a few moments before, this was a sure sign that today was going to be great.
Shawn + Danielle live and work the ski season in Truckee. They wanted a Wedding in Danielle’s hometown of Monterey, by the sea + celebrating all things about adventure. These two are marathon runners + souls that seek nature + all things outdoors.
The Perry House is a cheery yellow historic gem that sits slightly above the famous pier overlooking the bay. It has a series a tiered staircases and levels that the couple decorated to celebrate their day with their loved ones.
Highlights included a first look on corner where the house sits, this insane beautifully layered gown an emotional wedding ceremony and running [yes, running] and twirling around on the beach at sunset. The power also went out, but that didn’t halt the fun of this day.
My favorite part of this day was the way Dani + Shawn light up when they see each other. It’s some kind of crazy electricity that I was so lucky to get to capture on this beautiful day in the Monterey Bay.
