odessa + briana: end of the road retreat destination wedding with a red aframe + a banjo led band + magic galore

Weddings & Engagement
July 11, 2017

where to begin with these two beautiful souls.

odessa + briana are adventure seekers, rollercoaster enthusiasts + nature lovers. they both have an affinity for caring for other people, as well as each other and their two cats. they both share a deep appreciation for yosemite after several camping trips together at bass lake. it just made sense to have their wedding at the end of the retreat in mariposa county for their dear ones to enjoy a full weekend of celebration in this beautiful place.

the sun shined on the red a-frame as birds sang through the trees, camping guests enjoyed the patio + the sound of the lake hummed throughout the secluded nature getaway as getting ready happened throughout the cabin. the ceremony took place outside, overlooking the lake, and was officiated by an old friend of the bride. briana’s emotional first look of odessa coming down the aisle is still sharp in my memory. misty eyes were in good company here. they exchanged their own vows where, unbeknownst to them they both mentioned how they were each others ‘favorite’.

bridal party portraits in the woods among the trees, archery + lawn games, puppies running around, wildflowers colorfully adorning the dinner tent, speeches from loved ones, bbq buffet spread, market lights strung from the cabin peak + a sunset in all gold. we did portraits in the woods + finished the night with most of the guests changing in to casual clothes. the moon came out and everyone gathered to enjoy their friends band that got together after a long hiatus in honor of this union, this day + this love.

one of my favorites ever.

one for the books.

I Do’s + Dueling Dinosaurs: Los Angeles Museum Wedding
This couple wanted to do things very differently. They opted to wed under the two dueling dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles. I admired how even though Dinosaurs could very easily been seen as a cheesy theme, they pulled this off into being a very elegant and gorgeous wedding. Most of the Brides jewelry were vintage pieces from her grandmother. I had a fun time making them into a T-Rex. Maybe too many sweets that morning? We had such fun feeding off of their fun and whimsical personalities throughout the beautiful day. Dancing the night away with animals of every kind having out too- this was a fun one.   ...

sean + virdiana: bohemian outdoor wedding in the beverly hills canyon
Virdi and I instantly connected via the world wide web (+ Facebook) in a mutual group we were part of. Our love for Paris and french culture allowed us to share a bond way before we even started talking wedding! Virdi and her musician man are nature lovers + lead eco-friendly lives, which was something they wanted to incorporate in their day up in the Malibu Hills at Tree People. They were so clever in picking items that were reused, repurposed + environmentally responsible. Some of these details included table arrangements that were dried day-old flowers, wine from a solar powered plant in Napa, aisle arch made by their neighbor, mason ja ...

jen + ernest: outdoor winery wedding in cloverdale, california
This is very much a power couple. Originally hailing from Florida, these two packed their bags for new adventures + work prospects on the West Coast. One of those adventures included a proposal bringing us all together for this beautiful day that rain didn’t dare mess with. The setting was at the Pendleton Estate + Winery in Cloverdale where they had stayed during one of their many visits to wine country. Clinging to their mutual affinity for good wine, the estate, surrounded by rolling hills + local vineyards, was a perfect setting for their visiting friends and family from all over the states.   Two best friends that had a per ...
