Cloudy at the Eiffel Tower: Family Portrait Session in Paris

Family & Lifestyle
October 27, 2016

Cloudy or Bright, Chilly or Warm; Paris is always enchanting.

This particular morning in August was overcast + grey, unusual for the peak of summer. I met this sweet family (from Southern California too) at Champs de Mars for a few photos to commemorate their European travels. We strolled around the gardens for a bit, admiring the Tower, as typical Parisians do, before heading across the bridge over to Trocadero and eventually down to the Seine.

The love of this family is so evident and it was fun to capture the little playful in between moments of our time together.

After all, if you can’t play in Paris, why go? ;p

[sunrise] Somewhere in Dallas: a girl + her horse
A girl and her horse. I was thrilled to shoot a horse for the first time (professionally!)- what a thrill. These creatures are so big and so majestic and so unpredictably lovely. We braved the 29 degree Texas morning and headed out to the stables. The grass had a crisp layer of frost and the pond was waking up to a stream of misty fog. The sun rose just in time to start the day and warm our frozen fingers and toes. Reba, the horse, was happy to take a morning trot around the pen. We entertained and were able to pose her with the help of carrots and peppermint oat treats- which I recovered from my jeans while unpacking last week. S ...

Concert Vibes: Valley Shine at The Satellite in SilverLake 3/4/16
I love shooting a little Indie Folk Band by the name of Valley Shine. They returned to the stage last night for a show at The Satellite, a music staple to the Silverlake area. The lighting was perfect in many ways, shifting slightly as the set did. These were shot on Leica M240 (first time with concerts!) and Canon 5dMarkiii. Check out more of Valley Shine   See you at the next! -xo

Roadside Stop + Almond Blossom Heaven: Never Stop Exploring
I was driving up to Northern California, as usual, along the 5 freeway. It was an ordinary trip up, Coldplay and Taylor Swift were blasting in the speakers, kombucha was snuggly in the cup holder and [luckily] most all of my photo gear was in tow with me. It was a perfectly normal trip up, until, it wasn't. About halfway through my trip I came across the most wondrous almond blossom trees. Fields upon fields, row upon row. I was so amazed by the first batch and to my great delight crops continued for nearly hundred miles! I scouted my perfect spot to stop and went crazy. The setting was perfect; the sun hid under billowy clouds of bl ...
