My Favorite Bridge in the Whole, Wide World: Pont de Bir Hakeim

Travel & Personal
February 9, 2016

I love MANY things about Paris; summer strolls along the seine, macarons in pastels, afternoons waltzing through passage ways, stormy days where rain washes the cobblestone streets and, of course, my favorite bridge post de Bir-Hakeim.

As I was taking the long way home and riding my bike down the seine after a shoot I came across this beauty on accident. I knew about it and had seen several photos, it was even in one of my favorite movies- Inception. It wasn’t until we came face to face that I full completely in love.

It’s such a wonder in an already wonderful city. Gracefully connecting the 16th and 15th Arrondissements with striking views of the Eiffel Tower.

The metro goes right above the bridge, Chicago style and the breezeway reminds me of Brooklyn all wrapped in everything I love about Parisian architecture.

It’s really the perfect bridge. See for yourself:

Photos from my first visit and then a sunrise shoot, because I believe in those.

blossoms + street life: tokyo travels
A year ago this week I traveled to Japan for the first time with my mom. I really had no idea what to expect from Tokyo. I discovered a fast-paced, industrial mecca filled with [lots of] very polite people, colorful signs and cherry blossoms. These are just a few of the places we explored in the few days we got to spend in the city including a visit to the Tsukiji Fish Market, Tokyo Imperial Palace parks and grounds, Shibuya Station and various places along the way. Neither one of us eats fish so we had pizza for dinner. The metro was very confusing, we didn't travel with a tour group so we were on our own. Grateful for the strang ...

twenty six hours in kauai: my road trip through a hawaiian wonderland
earlier this spring i had the opportunity to shoot a pre-wedding session on the north shore + a beautiful waikiki resort wedding on the island of oahu. i had been to this part of hawaii twice as a kid so it was fun to re-explore + find my inner island self once again. since i had never been to another hawaiian island i knew i wanted to leap [with the help of an airplane] to another spot on the islands. i got my budget traveler hat on and enjoyed 26 hours in kauai for under $200. it's a quick 41 minute flight into kauai’s darling little airport [$125]. rental car is the way to see the island [$60 with gas]. not five miles into the ...
